How to create a new user account on your computer

If you have a computer that you share with someone, then it is advisable to create a new user account for privacy and other related stuffs. It keeps your heart at rest knowing fully well that the other user won’t have access o your personal stuffs (videos, music or even documents), to create a new user account is very simple, with these steps you will be done within two minute.

To create a new user on your windows operating system is very easy, to create a new user account follow the following steps to create a new user account

Step 1: Open Control Panel and click on the User Account and Family Safety

Step 2: Click on the Add or remove user account

Step 3: Click on Create new account and Type in the Account name

 Step 4: Select the Account type (Administrator or Standard user)

An Administrator account allows you to perform so many tasks like creating a new user account like we are doing now, it gives you complete access to your computer and you can make any changes you desire

While a Standard user account is a type of account which allows user to install software and change system settings that does not affect users or the security of the system.

According to windows help and support it is advisable to select the Standard account because the Standard account can help protect your computer by preventing users from making changes that affect everyone who uses the computer, such as deleting files that are required for the computer to work. We recommend creating a standard account for each user.

Step 5: Click on Create Account to create a new user account

After this process, you will see the account which you just created, will be listed among other accounts which you already have. To keep this account safe, you need to put a password, to do so follow these steps

Step 1: Click on the account which you’ve just created

Step 2: Select create a password

 

Step 3: Enter the password of your choice but I will advice you use combination of alphabet and number, retype the password and enter your password hint. This will enable you to remember your password when you forget it.

Step 4: Finally click on create password with this, your new account is protected and only you can have access to this account except you tell someone the password

Whenever you click on that account you see a menu with things you can do, like Change the account name, Change account picture and the rest.

Windows 10

For windows 10 it is not difficult, all you need to do is to follow these steps

•          Right click on the windows 10 start icon

•          select the user accounts option
•          click on manage another account
  
  
  
•          click on add a new user and configure the account

Simple and short, with this you have created a new user account on windows 10 you can use the windows 10 setting option to create a new user account

Or you can also create a new user account on your windows pc using command prompt, all you need to do is to type in the following commands

Through command prompt

• Open your command prompt as administrator and to do so you have to sign in using your administrative account

With this you have successfully created a new user account, if you want to make this account an administrative account, quickly type in the command

·         Net Localgroup administrator user_account (the account name)/add for example Net Localgroup administrator sheyemi /add and hit Enter

If you ever which to delete the new user account which you have just created simply type in the command bellow and hit enter to execute the command

·         Net user user_account (the account name) / del for better explanation Net user sheyemi / del hit Enter to execute the command

With this you’ve deleted the user account successfully. As you can see creating a user account, making the account an administrative account and deleting the account is a very simple and easy thing to do, you don’t need an expert to do that for you.
