Bios stands for (Basic Input/ Output system) this is a program in which a computer microprocessor used to start the computer after it is powered on. It also manages data flow between the computer operating system and attached devices like the hard disk, keyboard, mouse etc. Haven’t know the definition and some of the uses of Bios I will forge ahead to tell you guy’s some importance of updating your Bios

Importance of updating the Bios

Here are some of the vital reasons or importance for updating your Bios

  1.     Hardware Update: A Bios update, update your motherboard which enables it to effectively identify new hardware in your computer such as your Processor, Ram and many  more
  2.     Security Update: An updated Bios comes with additional security update which helps your Bios to resist tampering and increases awareness of some boot sector viruses that is if your motherboard support (Boot Sector Scanning)
  3.     It increases stability: A Bios update improves the stability of your pc, that is if your been experiencing some bugs in your system then a good Bios update could help in fixing the issue

Step on how to update your dell bios

·         First of all u need to know the version of bios you are using to avoid downloading the same or less version of bios

·         To do so on your dell computer press the F2 key immediately you press the power button or alternatively press the F12 button at the dell logo screen and select system set-up

·         After you have seen your bios version  open your web browser and head straight to www.dell.com and browse through the dell drivers & download page

·         Next, you need to identify your dell computer from the list

·         Select your operating system (windows 7, 8, 8.1, or 10)

·         Under the categories section select the Bios option

·         Find your system Bios and download and save it on your computer

·         Locate where you save the downloaded Bios setup file

·         Launch  the setup and follow the onscreen instructions

·         After you have completed the setup process Reboot your computer.

 

Note:

Your pc should have at least 10% of power in your laptop battery. Although Dell recommends that your pc should be plug to a power source before doing the update, because any power shortage could lead to the damage of your computer and loss of data. And also it is necessary to backup your computer before doing this.
