Hello and welcome to this blog once again, today I will be showing some ways on how to fix An Operating System wasn’t found.
When you boot up your computer after shutting it down and this message is been display An operating system wasn’t found, all you have to do is to follow the steps bellow
Step 1: Unplug External Devices
Removing external peripherals like USB drives, external hard drive and other things you can think of, could solve your problem because this boot problem can be caused when your computer is trying to boot into external devices that does not contain your windows installation files. I recommend you do so before thinking of reading the next solution
Step 2: Change the Boot Order
When your boot order is not set to boot into the hard drive that contains your operating, it could result into this problem. Moreover, to fix these you need to access your Bios setup utility, to do so
- You have to click on F2 immediately after hitting the power button, well it might be a different key or combination of keys that depends on the model you are using
- Head to the Boot Section and set your hard disk with your windows installation files at the top (make it the first priority in the list)
- After that Save your new setting and Reboot to see if the problem is fixed, if not move to the next option
Step 3: Clean Installation
After trying all the above-mentioned solution and still the problem is not yet solve I would advise you make a clean installation, because when I had this problem I tried the Step2 and Step1 they did not work (that does not mean they will not work in your case), i was left with this option. Which was to install another operating, which I did and now am using the computer without any problem of Operating System wasn’t found, however I suggest you give this option a try
Step 4: Change Your Hard Disk/Drive
This problem may occur when your hard disk is badly damage as you know, and trying these options at the top may not be the solution to the problem, changing your hard disk completely can be the only solution for you. Nevertheless, I do not pray so.
